The 3rd International Conference of Administrators and Registrars of National Top Level Domains of the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe hosted by the Coordination Center for ccTLD .RU and co-sponsored by the ICANN will be held on 7-10 September 2010 in Samara oblast, Russia. We are expecting not less than 100 participants from 25 countries. Among the participants will be representatives of national registries and registrars, renowned world experts and representatives from international organizations: ICANN, CENTR, World Intellectual Property Organization, among others.

The Coordination Center has hosted the International Conference of Administrators and Registrars of National Top Level Domains of the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe since 2008. The previous conferences were held in Bulgaria in 2008 and Slovenia in 2009. The 2010 Conference will be held in the wake of the launch of internationalized domain names (IDNs). The location for the 3rd International Conference has been picked deliberately: Russia has pioneered the previously uncharted territory of the international domain space. Representatives of Russian registries together with Russian registrars will be ready to share their unique experience in introducing the Cyrillic ccTLD .РФ and brief the conference participants on first trends in its development. The incipient process of emergence of non-Latin ccTLDs is not only of national but international importance and will impact the general evolution of the internet. Today, successful and efficient interaction between stakeholders has become very urgent at the international, regional and national levels.

The conference will aim to engage leading registrars from different ccTLDs into discussions on the Internet issues; as well the conference will focus on organization of interaction between ccTLDs registries and registrars. This issue has become pressing in the light of a prompt development of national segments of the Internet. Conference participants will discuss prospective Internet advancement trends, Internet governance issues, and technical coordination of the addressing space distribution, latest trends in the sphere of ensuring a safer Internet, opportunities for extending the international cooperation, as well as relevant subjects of the global domain names market – that is, marketing and promotion of national domains, domain names auctions, internationalized domains and legal aspects of the domain industry.
